Guangdong And Guangxi Hand In Hand: Sanghai'S "Wisdom" Changes To Draw A "New Silk Road"

Guangdong And Guangxi

In early summer, the land in central Guangxi is full of green. In the 600 mu modern mulberry garden demonstration base in Hongdu Town, Xincheng County, Laibin City, Guangxi, the intelligent water fertilizer integrated irrigation equipment is spraying irrigation on contiguous mulberry trees. This is the starting point for Wei Jianxue, the general manager of Xincheng Hongdu Hongchuangxing Investment Co., Ltd., to lead villagers to "break the cocoon into butterflies".

Xincheng County is known as the "hometown of silkworms". The mulberry garden covers an area of about 260000 mu, and 75% of farmers live by planting mulberry and raising silkworms. Xincheng is the second largest county of silkworm industry in China, with mulberry orchards all over the country. Over the years, due to decentralized management and backward technology, it is difficult for Xincheng County to make a significant breakthrough in the benefits of its silkworm industry.

Wei Jianxue keenly catches the opportunity. In 2022, after years of hard work, he will return to his hometown Hongdu Town to start his own business. "In June 2023, I jointly funded and established Hongdu Hongchuangxing Company with 12 villages (communities) in Hongdu Town. It is the first enterprise in the county that is' led by party building, led by capable people, and jointly operated by villages and enterprises'. The company is committed to promoting the safe and healthy development of agriculture, injecting new technologies into the silkworm industry, driving the surrounding farmers to increase their income and help the village level collective economy to increase income." Wei Jian said, He also cooperated with 12 villages (communities) in Hongdu Town and 4 villages in Chengguan Town of Xincheng County to integrate 6 million yuan (RMB, the same below) to build a modern mulberry garden demonstration base and introduce a number of new technologies to plant mulberry trees.

"In the past, sericulturists planted mulberry trees with row spacing and plant spacing of 0.5 meters, which were densely packed, not conducive to the growth of mulberry leaves and disease prevention; We adopt the "wide narrow row" planting method, with the row spacing of 1.5 meters and the plant spacing of 0.5 meters. In addition, we select high-quality mulberry trees with large leaves, which are irrigated with intelligent water and fertilizer, so that the per mu yield of mulberry leaves can be increased by about 1000 kilograms, and the pests and diseases can be reduced by more than 30%. ”Wei Jian's theory.

Wei Jianxue said that the company takes "separation of planting and breeding" as the core, allowing farmers with mulberry gardens to sell mulberry leaves to increase their income, farmers with labor to work in factories, and villages with sites to rent silkworm houses collectively, forming an interest combination mechanism of "land to assets, and farmers to workers".

When entering the standardized silkworm shed of Xincheng Hongdu Hongchuangxing Investment Co., Ltd., the intelligent temperature control system adjusts the environment in real time, and the workers manage silkworms of different ages in different areas. In September 2024, the base will introduce automation equipment, and the output of the first batch of cocoons will reach 660kg, with an income of more than 30000 yuan. Wei Jianxue calculated an account: "After centralized breeding, the quality of cocoons has improved, and the unit price has stabilized at 60 yuan/kg, 15% higher than that of individual investors."

More profound changes in Xincheng County's sericulture industry come from the extension of the industrial chain. Wu Xiaohong, member of the Standing Committee of Xincheng County Party Committee, deputy county head, and head of Maoming's Guangdong Guangxi Cooperation Working Group in Xincheng, said that since Gaozhou, Xinyi, and Huazhou in Guangdong Province "organized" to help Xincheng, they have been based on local development realities and resource endowments, vigorously supporting the sericulture industry, and continuing to build a cocoon and silk industry cluster.

Wu Xiaohong said that the Guangxi Xincheng Cocoon and Silk Industrial Park, with a total investment of 5 billion yuan and a planned area of 1600 mu, is under construction. Located in Hongdu Industrial Park, Xincheng County, the Industrial Park is a major construction project of Guangdong Guangxi cooperation to promote "Gulf enterprises entering Guangxi". The project focuses on relying on the resource advantages of Xincheng County and surrounding counties and cities to promote the transformation and development of the silkworm silk industry from seedling, mulberry planting, sericulture, silk reeling and weaving to the whole industrial chain of printing, dyeing and processing, clothing, and comprehensive utilization of by-products to the direction of intensification, greening, and intelligence, and to create a cross regional cooperation whole industrial chain mulberry cocoon silk industry cluster. The project is expected to consume 100000 tons of cocoons, produce 15000 tons of silk, 150 million meters of real silk, and 75 million sets of silk clothing after the project is completed. It will become the largest single cocoon silk industrial chain park in China.

It is reported that Xincheng Cocoon Silk Industrial Park will be constructed in three phases. The first phase of the project will be started in November 2020, covering an area of 600 mu, with a total floor area of 240000 square meters, and an investment of 1.147 billion yuan, including 50 million yuan of special poverty alleviation funds from the central government and 96.086 million yuan of financial assistance funds from Guangdong. The park introduced Guangdong enterprise Shenzhen Tongyi New Zhongkong Industrial Co., Ltd. through Guangdong Guangxi cooperation, and established Guangxi Tongyi Guosi Development Co., Ltd. The textile and silk mills in the park have been put into trial production since July 2021, with an accumulated industrial output value of nearly 100 million yuan. The silk reeling factory strives for trial production by the end of 2025, and has reached the end of the year to complete the comprehensive trial production of refining, dyeing and printing.

From the upgrading of cocoon breeding technology to the innovation of silk processing technology, Xincheng's cocoon and silk industry has been upgraded with the help of Guangdong Guangxi cooperation, forming an industrial chain of "mulberry silkworm cocoon silk silk" and a "new silk road" from "big silkworm county" to "strong silkworm county" to enrich people.

Wei Jian said: "In the past, when I worked outside, I could earn about 7000 yuan a month, but that was to help others work. Now when I return to my hometown to start my own business, I am looking for a way out for my hometown people in the silkworm industry, from which I also found a sense of entrepreneurial achievement."

Driven by Wei Jianxue, Huang Xiaogui, a young man from Hongdu Community, Hongdu Town, Xincheng County, also joined the ranks of returning home to grow mulberry and silkworm. "I majored in engineering cost in college. Two years ago, General Manager Wei Jianxue invited me to return to my hometown to become a 'sericulture farmer' in the new era. I have never been exposed to mulberry planting and silkworm rearing. After two years of learning, I have gradually become familiar with the work of mulberry planting and silkworm rearing with science and technology." Huang Xiaogui said that rural revitalization needs the return of young people, He is proud to be one of the first to return.

As a native of Xincheng, Wei Jianxue witnessed the transformation of Xincheng's silkworm industry from selling mulberry leaves to producing silk, and the small silkworm has really become an "industrial dragon". Today's Xincheng is still full of mulberry. The return of youth, the blessing of science and technology, and the help of Guangdong have enabled Xincheng, the "hometown of silkworms", to achieve "rebirth from cocoon" in the new era.
