On October 31, the mid-term promotion meeting of the strategic research and consulting project of the Chinese Academy of Engineering "Research on Biomedical Fiber Products and Industrial Development Strategy" was held in Xiqiao Town, Foshan, Guangdong Province.

The project leader is Yu Jianyong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of Donghua University, and the project team members are Sun Jinliang and Xu Weilin, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Li Lingshen, Vice President of China Textile Industry Federation; Li Guimei, President of China Industrial Textile Industry Association, Xia Dongwei, former President of Qingdao University, and about 50 experts and project team members from universities, research institutes, and enterprises participated in the conference through the combination of online and offline.

Biomedical fiber products are an important part of biomedical materials, which are used in clinical diagnosis, treatment, repair, replacement and human health protection. There is still a big gap with the international advanced level. The project lasts for one year. The goal is to study the current situation of the industry, key neck clamping technologies, high-quality development constraints, etc., and put forward strategic suggestions for industrial development around the body, body and protective biomedical fiber products. Li Lingshen paid attention to the project. He said that the biomedical fiber products industry urgently needed to break through the development bottleneck, and hoped that the project would be committed to solving the current problems of insufficient original innovation and insufficient synergy between research and development and clinical application, so as to better guide the high-quality development of the industry.

Li Guimei presided over the meeting and introduced the overall situation of the project. Li Guanzhigao, China Industrial Textile Industry Association, Wang Fujun, Vice President of the School of Textile Science and Engineering of Donghua University, Ma Pibo, Vice President of the School of Textile Science and Engineering of Jiangnan University, and Li Yuyao, Associate Professor of the School of Textile Science and Engineering of Tianjin University of Technology, reported the mid-term progress of the project on behalf of the overall project team, the body products team, the body products team, and the protective products team respectively.

The overall team introduced the overall objectives, research contents and achievements of the project in detail, summarized the research progress of each team, compared, analyzed and sorted out the neck products, technology lists and key promotion technology lists in various fields, and put forward research ideas and implementation suggestions for the next stage. The project research work needs to further focus on common key technologies, form a research force that breaks through the basic frontier, and promote the project research work to be deep and practical. The key development directions of the in vivo group include the key technologies and industrialization of the preparation of medical fiber raw materials and textile products for human cavity, cardiovascular system, soft tissue repair, and in vivo intelligent diagnosis and treatment. It is urgent to link up the application system and drive industrial upgrading through the mode of industry university research cooperation and medical linkage. Extracorporeal components include fiber products for filtration of auxiliary devices, wound/hemostatic dressings, rehabilitation and health care, and intelligent sensor monitoring. Degradable, intelligent, and customized become the future development trend. The protection group includes ordinary medical protective fiber products, special medical protective products, high-level medical protective products, and intelligent protective products for health monitoring suitable for the elderly. In the future, the development direction will be better comprehensive performance, more friendly human body/environment, and higher intelligence.

The leaders and experts at the meeting made full discussion and put forward relevant opinions and suggestions based on the development trend, technical demand and path, promotion measures of China's biomedical fiber products industry, as well as the consulting and research work of the project. Academician Xu Weilin said that in view of the problem of insufficient R&D power, he called on relevant departments to increase policy and regulatory support; Promote the establishment of medical industry cooperation mechanism; Stimulate entrepreneurship and promote entrepreneurial feelings and responsibilities; Strengthen standard construction and science popularization. Academician Sun Jinliang stressed that the project team should clarify the industrial gap through research; We should learn more about the actual needs from clinical use.

Academician Yu Jianyong made clear the key direction of the next step in his summary speech, covering four aspects: first, starting from the application needs, systematically combing the existing products, and building a subdivision product system of biomedical fiber products. The second is to systematically study the current situation of domestic and foreign industries, technologies and markets, and identify the short board, long board and potential new growth points of China's biomedical fiber products industry. The third is to analyze the internal factors that restrict the development of the industry from the aspects of materials, processes, applications and other technologies, as well as the multi-dimensional analysis of the achievement transformation mechanism, the role of the enterprise as the main body, and the medical industry integration model. Fourth, based on the industrial height, build a list of key technology breakthroughs, standard system construction, product applicability applications, etc., and form a path plan with strategic, forward-looking and guiding significance for industrial development.
