The New York Fashion Week Will Be Held Online On September, And The Schedule Will Be Shortened To Three Days.
Recently, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (hereinafter referred to as CFDA) officially announced that the 2021 spring and summer fashion week will be postponed to from September 14th to 16th online.
If the demand of the public is high enough, it is possible to extend until September 17th. At present, this shortened schedule is limited to the 2021 spring and summer fashion week.
Similar to the online London Fashion Week hosted by the British Fashion Council in June, the Paris high fashion fashion week that just opened online, and the upcoming Milano Fashion Week Digital, the New York fashion week will also be held online, mainly considering health and safety during the new era of Fashion.
Mark Beckham, vice president of marketing and activities at CFDA, recently said that the form of digitalization can make the brand fashion show easier to adapt to the more hurried schedule.
He said in an interview: "we can arrange the same number of exhibits in the three days as the original schedule. Because this fashion show will be held online, there is no need to consider time conflicts between brands. " He further pointed out that because of the impact of the epidemic on the economy of the fashion industry, some designers may directly choose to skip this quarter.
So far, American designer brands Marc Jacobs and Michael Kors have announced that they will not participate in the fashion week of New York in September, while Micheal Kors plans to launch another fashion show in 2021 October.
According to the introduction, CFDA plans to provide "online resources" for all selected brands to maximize the exposure rate of the fashion week.
More detailed and updated fashion week arrangements CFDA have not yet been published on the official website.
