APEC Fashion Designer Zhao Huizhou: How To Create "New Suit"?

"Our team has consulted a lot of data in the early stage of the design. Besides studying the traditional Chinese cultural history books, we also understand the personal styles, preferences and taboos of the spouses of different APEC leaders, and study the dressing of Mrs. APEC's group over the years, so as to achieve the most internationalized and modern expression of Chinese elements."

In the selection of fabrics, considering the climate of APEC during the meeting, the clothing needs to be light and warm, so it has developed wool and silk blended fabrics. The selection of colors is mainly based on plain and elegant colors, such as traditional Tibetan, peony, and light apricot. In the profile design, the most popular design of minimalist and large profile is adopted, which is not only simple and atmospheric, but also has good tolerance to different shapes. In terms of elements, a large number of traditional crafts such as Suzhou embroidery are used to decorate the details.
