Job Hunting For College Graduates And Winter Jobs For Migrant Workers

Migrant Worker

On the last day of 2008, the largest overseas recruitment site for overseas workers in Chongqing's history was held at the Guanyin Bridge pedestrian street in Jiangbei, Chongqing.

This recruitment fair, mainly based on recruitment of migrant workers returning home, has attracted many college students.

The organizers of the Chongqing Municipal Foreign Economic and Trade Commission have said that 4700 people have signed up for competition, and there are countless people on the scene. It is estimated that tens of thousands of applicants came to the scene.

Is it not for migrant workers to grab jobs?

On the face of it, college graduates' employment of migrant workers is a devaluation of knowledge, but also an impact on the labor market. But in my view, it is a false proposition for college students and migrant workers to grab jobs.

In addition to high wages, college students are eager to work in foreign countries.

According to the 2009 economic blue book published by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, 1 million of college graduates are unable to get employment in late 2008, and nearly 6 million 110 thousand of them will face employment in 2009.

There are fewer jobs and fewer jobs. The financial turmoil has reduced employment opportunities. College students are experiencing "winter jobs". What can they do besides adjusting the expected value of employment?

In fact, judging the job applicant's high price and low salary, he can not simply see his identity as a migrant worker or a college student. He should see whether his work value is directly proportional to his salary.

Although the educational level of college students is relatively high, there is a structural imbalance between university specialty settings and market demand.

College students often do not work in accordance with their academic qualifications, and their technical content is not high.

Moreover, the newly graduated college students have a single job skill and lack of work experience.

Job search space is not big.

As professor Chen Xinmin of South China Normal University said, "there are not too many college students, but there is a serious imbalance between China's industrial structure and employment structure.

Due to the lag of industrial structure upgrading and industrial cascade pfer, the employment problem of university students is difficult.

In this way, the employment of college students and migrant workers is essentially a matter of talent structure and industrial results.

It is not simply the depreciation of talents, but the college students' worth is equal to the problem of migrant workers.

In fact, in addition to high labor intensity industries and a small number of skilled migrant workers, migrant workers are in a more disadvantaged position than most college students, and most of them earn less than college students.

Many of the wages of migrant workers hovered near the local minimum wage line and could not even reach the minimum wage standard.

It is also an indisputable fact that migrant workers have long working hours and strong labor intensity.

No labor contracts were signed with employers, no medical insurance, old-age insurance and work-related injury insurance. Working conditions, working conditions and living conditions were bad.

In this respect, the situation of college students is much better.

They rely on academic qualifications and have much room for negotiation with employers.

You can also win a bit of voice.

Step by step, just graduated college students, no work experience, and migrant workers to win jobs is normal, they accumulate experience, not only conducive to job hopping, but also the potential for higher wages.

It is much more difficult for migrant workers to raise their salaries.

Most of the migrant workers are old and small, and the heaviest load of life.

The burden on shoulders is heavier and psychological pressure is greater.

Most of them fail to obtain the identity of urban residents because they have no university degree, and are more susceptible to discrimination and discrimination in cities.

Therefore, I believe that college students and migrant workers are working hard to get jobs abroad. Of course, there is a decline in college students' status and a more pragmatic mentality of employment. But the more important reason is the irrational allocation of talent structure.

College students who have just left the school lack working experience and temporarily reduce their expectation of employment.

If the employment environment is set aside, it is a false proposition to simply say that college students should lower their status and win jobs with migrant workers.
