Quanzhou Textile Production Value Is Expected To Exceed 100 Billion Mark

On the basis of the 95 billion yuan output value of the whole industry last year, the output value of Quanzhou's textile and garment industry is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan this year.

The reporter learned from the second member congress of Quanzhou textile and Garment Association that as of now, there are more than 8000 textile and garment enterprises in Quanzhou, involving about 500000 types of textile, bleaching and dyeing, finishing, garment processing, clothing matching, and so on.

According to the briefing, in 2007, the textile and garment industry in Quanzhou achieved an industrial output value of 95 billion yuan, accounting for 25.4%% of the total industrial output value of the whole city; the value of export delivery was 38 billion yuan, accounting for 32%% of the total export delivery value of the city.

It is estimated that Quanzhou's textile and garment industry will achieve an industrial output value of 105 billion yuan in 2008, an increase of 10%% over 2007 and a total of more than 1750 Enterprises above designated size.

After years of hard work, Quanzhou garment industry has become one of the three major plates of China's garment industry, forming a textile and garment industry gathering area characterized by "leisure, fashion, brand and personality", occupying 1/4 of the national casual wear market.
