The main building of the Shanghai Exhibition Center was built in March 1955. It was the first convention and exhibition site in Shanghai after the founding of new China.

Over the past forty years, many important political and foreign affairs activities have been held here. The leaders of the three generations of the party and dozens of heads of state and government of foreign countries have organized and organized hundreds of exhibitions at home and abroad.

It has become the main conference center and famous exhibition hall in the city, and it is one of the windows of foreign exchange.

The exhibition center of the Shanghai exhibition center consists of the exhibition hall, the central hall, the East One Pavilion, the West One Pavilion and the west two pavilions. The northern conference hall is composed of the two hall of friendship hall and the reconstructed east two.

Shanghai Exhibition Center is located in the bustling central section of Jingan District, north of Nanjing West Road, south of Yanan road and Yanan road elevated, with Shanghai's rare geographical advantages.

There is an annular road in the hospital, which connects 6 square meters with a total area of 15 thousand square meters, 15 thousand square meters of garden green space, more than 1000 square meters of large light music fountain and 7 buildings.

The north and South courtyards have 9 gates leading to Yanan middle road and Nanjing West Road.
