Overview of Expo
The State Council issued the "textile industry readjustment and revitalization plan" and the guiding opinions of the central and western regions of the State Council in undertaking industrial transfer, and initially identified Chongqing as a national base for undertaking the Eastern Textile industry transfer base. Chongqing has firmly grasped the pace of speeding up the transfer of industries in the southeast coastal areas and the two major opportunities to encourage the orderly transfer of industries, and has made initial achievements in actively undertaking the transfer of the textile and garment industry. Chongqing municipal Party committee and municipal government made a decision: strive to build Wanzhou into the largest textile production and R & D base in China and the largest textile and clothing capital in the West in 5 years; Hechuan light textile industrial park has officially started construction, and will build a textile and textile base with a complete industrial chain of textile, printing and dyeing, clothing and so on. Fuling Dragon Bridge Industrial Park 20 projects will focus on the construction, will leap into the Midwest China's largest chemical fiber textile base; recently, Chongqing has set up the first Western clothing and apparel research and design base in Yubei. During the "12th Five-Year" period, the total scale of garment industry in Chongqing is expected to reach 50 billion to 80 billion yuan. Chongqing, as a designated clothing base in the west, has gradually built up the "clothing capital of the west".
The "China Chongqing international garment Festival", sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal People's government, was founded in 1998. Every two years, after more than ten years of development, the clothing festival has gradually become a grand gathering of garment industry in the western region. Its scale is constantly expanding and its grades are increasing. The exhibition area of the last clothing festival reaches 15 thousand square meters, attracting 239 exhibitors at home and abroad. Buyers from Japan, Singapore, Australia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Finland, Brazil and many provinces and cities in China came to Chongqing to negotiate trade, and the spot signing amount was 1 billion 300 million yuan.
