Recently, Chengdu held an environmental protection conference to sum up the city's "11th Five-Year" environmental protection work and deploy the environmental protection task in the coming period.

Ge Honglin emphasized six key points in the next stage of environmental protection work: first, we need to deepen the special treatment of the environment, focus on the comprehensive treatment of the environment, the atmospheric environment, the noise pollution and the rural pollution. Two, we need to strengthen the protection of drinking water sources, prevent hazardous wastes, prevent nuclear radiation and heavy metals. Three, we must strictly enact the environmental access system, strictly implement the environmental impact assessment system, the environmental protection pre-approval system and the construction project "three simultaneous" system; four, we should vigorously develop the environmental protection industry, encourage the support of environmental technology research and development, focus on cultivating environmental protection industrial clusters, and accelerate the implementation of the circular economy promotion plan; five, we must comprehensively promote the ecological construction, focus on strengthening ecological protection, thoroughly carry out the construction of ecological city, and improve the ecological compensation mechanism.

Ge Honglin also put forward specific requirements for strengthening the joint efforts of environmental protection work: first, we should implement the responsibility of environmental protection work and strengthen it.

At the meeting, the municipal government signed the responsibility for the total emission reduction target of 12th Five-Year with the relevant departments of the district (city) county government and municipal government.
