BASF'S New Asian Shoe Material Service Center

PUWORLD (2007/11/2) -- BASF's Asia shoe material Service Center (AFSC), established in Nansha, Guangzhou, was officially launched in November 1st. It has become the only multinational company that can test, develop and produce polyurethane (PU) composite materials for shoe material customers in this footwear production center.

Mr. Zhou Yingci, vice president of BASF polyurethane Asia Pacific Group, said: "after the new shoe material technology center is opened, BASF can be more close to the shoe materials customers in Asia and China, so that we can develop closer cooperation with shoe materials customers and develop tailored solutions for them."

He continued: "customers will benefit from it, enabling them to get on-site support for new applications of shoe materials, shorter delivery periods and higher standard of technical services."

The New Asia shoe material service center is also the only center in the area to produce, develop and test the PU system of polyether (PEOL) and polyester (PESOL).

The new center also promotes BASF's lab and shoe technology service workers in Asia and China, using the global footwear research and development network, thereby speeding up the flow of information and creativity, and helping BASF to provide customers with more proactive, customized, and market oriented innovative solutions.

With the advanced technology service center and expertise and experience in the field of polyurethane, BASF will provide a complete set of solutions for Asian shoe materials customers.
