Communicating with a HR, I heard such a debate: should enterprises pay people or stay at heart?

Salary is naturally the salary, and the heart is to emphasize employees' sense of belonging to the enterprise.

Two views are supported by others.

It is fair to say that a competitive salary is a win-win situation for both employees and enterprises.

However, this argument precisely illustrates the deficiencies of most domestic enterprises in this respect at present.


As for the debate on salary and experience, if we look at it from a large environment, we can compare it with Europe and America.

The most popular recent event is that many Google employees jump to Facebook.

The purpose of some job hopping is to get an option after listing Facebook, which is from the salary point of view, and partly because Facebook's entrepreneurial environment gives people more room to play.

Salary and heart are the reasons for job hopping, but do not ignore one problem: the welfare benefits, the competitiveness of salaries and the level of living consumption in Europe and the United States.

If people in Europe and the United States pay their salaries and pay attention to half of their salaries, then the domestic salary should occupy a larger proportion.


In the masnon hierarchy of needs theory, human needs are divided into two parts.

Material needs and

Spiritual needs, where material needs are at the bottom.

In fact, the purpose of paying people is to retain employees by material means, and to keep them with heart is to retain employees from a spiritual point of view.

Based on this theory, it can be concluded that in enterprises, only after meeting the material basis of employees can they rely on the "heart" to keep people.


But look at the current domestic cost of living, marriage, housing, child raising, parental care, and so on, and the small salary is now so that most of the employees are still in a state of basic life only, and even the basic life can not be satisfied, so it is not difficult to understand the degree of importance paid by these employees to their salaries.

It is impossible for some enterprises to keep people in mind.

If employees do not meet the material needs, the spiritual needs are even more impossible.


We often see entrepreneurs in the media to achieve them.

Self worth

It is natural for us to praise entrepreneurship, but we should not lose sight of the fact that these entrepreneurs may have accumulated a fortune and have enough food and clothing. They may also have rich connections. They can get VC at the beginning of their business, and are higher than other entrepreneurs at the start.

This reality shows that the so-called spiritual level is based on the material level.

This is also true at the staff level. Imagine that if an employee's salary can only satisfy the most basic life, while other enterprises can provide better jobs and higher salaries, how can you retain the "heart" of employees?


Salary is the foundation. It builds on the basis of the salary that ensures the life of employees.

Sense of belonging

Of course, we can not give employees a high salary for no reason. But as long as an enterprise can provide salaries for its employees to match their abilities, salaries will also rise with the improvement of employees' abilities, so that employees' hearts will naturally be combined with enterprises.
