The practice shows that maintaining an open, fair and equitable multilateral trading system and further enhancing the vitality of international trade is an important driving force for the development of the world economy.

In 2009, under the influence of the international financial crisis, Global trade fell by 12%, but it did not appear in the great depression in the 30s of last century. A solid and strong multilateral trading system once again showed its importance.

But trade protectionism is on the rise.

In 2009, China's exports accounted for only about 9.6% of the world's total, but the number of anti-dumping cases accounted for about 40% of the world's total, and the number of countervailing cases accounted for 75% of the world. The number of trade remedy investigations suffered accounted for about 43% of the total number of cases in the same period. China has become the main counterpart of trade protectionism.

Yi Xiaozhun said, once again, we call on all parties to earnestly implement the consensus reached by the leaders of the group of twenty, to avoid adopting new trade restrictive measures, and firmly oppose all kinds of trade protectionism, and call for the early conclusion of the Doha Round negotiations.
