Textile Tariff

According to the Wall Street journal, a hundred year old flood has flooded.

Pakistan

Cotton crops in many areas have exacerbated the crisis in Pakistan's textile industry.

Pakistan once again appealed to the US and Europe to reduce tariffs on Pakistan textiles.

Pakistan floods caused 1500 deaths, 20 million people were affected, 1/5 of the land was flooded, and textile and other new demand for rapid growth.

The floods destroyed at least 2 million bales of cotton, and 15% of the cotton harvest is expected to be aggravated by the fear of shortages.

Over the past few years, Pakistan has made vigorous efforts to expand the market for clothing, household appliances and textiles, create employment opportunities and prevent the unemployed from being exploited by terrorist organizations.

Pakistan textile industry minister Waqar Khan said, "obviously, the textile industry will face a big crisis. The textile industry is the backbone of the national economy, but the shortage of spinning is inevitable.

The open market will effectively alleviate the coming disaster.

The domestic developed textile industry in the United States and other western countries requires government protection against the impact of cheap imports. The United States and the European Union are helping Pakistan and protecting the country.

Textile enterprises

Seek balance between interests.

Lobbyists in Pakistan's textile industry say that better access to the US and European markets, which can create more jobs than some aid programs, is the best way to oppose Islamic extremism and expand unemployment.

But so far, there has been no sign of reducing taxes on Pakistan's textile industry in the US and Europe.

The textile industry in Pakistan directly solves the problem of 3 million 500 thousand people.

Obtain employment

The problem is about 40% of the total number of workers in Ba cities.

Textile exports accounted for more than half of Pakistan's total exports last year, about $10 billion 30 million, of which about $6 billion worth of goods were exported to the United States and Europe.

According to Pakistan government officials and textile business owners, the abolition of US tariffs on Pakistan textile industry will greatly stimulate the export of Pakistan textile industry, about 5 billion US dollars per year.

The US Congress agreed last year to give Pakistan domestic aid to rebuild trust and fight terrorism.

The US military has also provided assistance to the Pakistan military to combat Taliban terrorist organizations in the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

But the United States has postponed trade concessions to Pakistan, and the European Union has also slowed down tariffs.

EU officials said in June that it would take up to 3 years to reach agreement on reducing the cost of textiles.

The Bush administration of the United States put forward a special "redevelopment opportunity area" plan in 2006, and promised to give zero tariff to textiles exported from poor areas of Pakistan and Afghanistan.

But the plan ran aground in the US Senate.

The American clothing and Footwear Association said they supported the establishment of a tax exempt zone in Pakistan, but the "redevelopment opportunities area" plan should protect the US textile owners from the impact of zero tariffs on Pakistan exports.

The association said that the reconstruction opportunities area should include the Pakistan industrial center, not just remote and dangerous areas, which would not produce any effect.

For now, the "redevelopment opportunities area" plan can only provide spiritual assistance to Pakistan and Afghanistan.
