Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics yesterday showed that energy consumption increased by 11.2% over the first half of this year, and GDP grew by 11.1% over the same period last year. The energy consumption per unit GDP increased by 0.09% compared with the same period last year.

Energy consumption of industrial units above designated size decreased by 1.25% compared with the same period last year.

Industry unit

Added value energy consumption, the coal industry dropped by 2.69%, the steel industry dropped by 1.64%, the building materials industry dropped by 7.61%, the chemical industry dropped by 4.28%, the textile industry decreased by 2.42%, the petroleum and petrochemical industry increased by 11.35%, the colored industry increased by 8.11%, and the electricity industry increased by 4.19%.

Previous data show that energy consumption per unit of GDP decreased by 3.61% over the previous year.

According to Xinhua news agency, Beijing, August, 3 (reporter Liu Zhengjiang, Guo Cheng) this year is the key year to achieve the goal of saving energy in 11th Five-Year.

In the first quarter, when unit GDP energy consumption increased by 3.2% over the first quarter, how should we look at the first half of the year?

Gross domestic product

A slight increase in energy consumption?

The head of the Department of State Development and Reform Commission said that the energy saving situation in the two quarter was better than that in the first quarter.

In the first quarter of this year, steel, electricity, nonferrous metals, building materials, petrochemical industry,

chemical industry

The six high energy consuming industries were driven by demand, an increase of 19.6% over the same period last year, and the growth rate was 17.3 percentage points faster than the same period last year.

This caused the energy consumption per unit of GDP in the first quarter to rise, rising by 3.2% compared with the same period last year, and the situation of energy saving is extremely severe.

The central government made decisive decisions and increased energy conservation efforts.

In the two quarter, the growth rate of six high energy consuming industries in China dropped by 4 percentage points over the first quarter.

Among them, the growth rate of high energy consumption industry dropped to 11.8% in June.

As an important constraint index for the 11th Five-Year plan, the energy consumption per unit GDP of our country will drop by about 20% in 5 years.

According to the latest data, the reduction rate of energy consumption per unit GDP in China from 2006 to 2009 is 2.74%, 5.04%, 5.20% and 3.61% respectively.

Considering the slight increase in unit GDP energy consumption in the first half of this year, the task of completing the "11th Five-Year" energy saving target is arduous.
