2008

Brazil

It is the sixth largest fiber / filament production country, with an annual output of 1 million 500 thousand tons.

The main fibers in Brazil are

cotton

And the production of artificial fiber / filament was 310000 tons.

Brazil produces all fiber / filament, the fifth largest cotton producing country in the world, the eighth largest viscose fiber and tenth viscose filament producing countries.

Brazil is also the seventh largest consumer country of textile fibers and the sixth largest exporter.

In terms of consumption, Brazil is the fifth largest cotton consumer country, the tenth largest consumer of acrylic staple, the eighth largest nylon and polyester filament consumption country.

Brazil is the main importer of polyester filament, ranking second in the world, ranking tenth in the import of acrylic staple fiber.

In 1990s, Brazil's production development was impressive.

Cotton yield

Annual growth of 2.7%, man-made fiber / filament production annual growth rate of up to 17.5%.

However, production declined during the ten years of 2000s. The growth of man-made fibres in 2000 decreased by -0.6% in 2000, and the annual output of cotton increased by 8%.

The 2008 storm reverses all positive growth and becomes a sharp drop.

Total man-made fiber production decreased by 13%, while cotton yield decreased by 26% and planting area decreased by 22%.

Polyester filament is the main body of the man-made fiber industry, and its output is reduced by 8%.

Similarly, polyester staple fiber also dropped by 8%.

Although viscose staple fibers yield less, they also reduce by half.

Supplement:

In 2008, Malaysia was the fifteenth largest producer in the world and the ninth largest fiber / filament producer in Asia.

The main body of Malaysia has been the polyester industry.

In 2008, 325000 tons of man-made fiber / filament were produced, of which about 235000 tons of filament and 65000 tons of staple fiber.

Other man-made fibers, Malaysia only produces nylon.

In 2008, 25000 tons of nylon filament were produced in Malaysia.

Malaysia artificial fiber accounts for 0.8% of the world's synthetic fiber.

In terms of polyester filament, Malaysia's share is 1.3%.

Malaysia is the ninth largest polyester filament producing country in the world. Almost all products are used for export. Therefore, in 2008, Malaysia was the world's fourth largest exporter of polyester filament and the ninth largest polyester staple export country.

Recently, Malaysia has kept some polyester filament for domestic consumption.

Malaysia is not the main consumer country of textile fiber / filament.
