Recently, the Xiaoshan entry-exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau concentrated on destroying 113 batch of 296789 unqualified clothing labels, most of which were unqualified labels for fabric fabrics.

It is understood that the fabric fabric identification is not qualified mainly refers to the actual test ingredients and washing label ingredients identification, clothing fabric test results and logo do not match.

A staff member of the entry-exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau picked up one of the unqualified signs and explained: "like this batch of export garments, the fabric is made of two different kinds of fibers. After testing 98% of cotton and 2% of spandex, 100% cotton is identified on the clothing label, which does not conform to the relevant regulations of the export products.

When exporting clothing products to the developed countries and regions such as the European Union and the United States, enterprises need to be more vigilant. The EU expressly stipulates that textiles must be made entirely of the same kind of fiber and their textile labels can be identified as "100%", "pure" or "full".

The United States recently introduced the "Consumer Goods Safety Improvement Act", which made clear the requirements of traceable labels. Once the labels do not meet the requirements of traceability, their products should be recalled immediately.

"Do not belittle this little logo on clothing, it has gathered all the information about the clothing, such as brand, composition, specifications, etc. if we do not check the customs properly, export to other countries, it may constitute commercial fraud, and even affect the credibility of our export products."

The staff said.

It is reported that at present, there are about 240 garment export enterprises in our district. After inspection, the export volume is about US $800 million, mainly exported to developed countries and regions such as Europe and the United States.

If the actual composition of clothing is inconsistent with the logo, resulting in a large number of finished products unqualified, for export enterprises, is no doubt an unnecessary loss.

Regarding this, a person in charge of the entry-exit inspection and Quarantine Bureau reminded manufacturers to pay enough attention to clothing labels. They should not be confined to the promise of fabric manufacturers. They should not only detect small samples provided by fabric factories, but also need to pass inspection tests before putting them into use.
