May 7 US Cotton Export Weekly: Contracted Down 4%, Shipment Reduced 19% Early News

According to the US Department of agriculture (USDA) released in May 6th, the US cotton export weekly, April 23rd -4 29, this week, the United States signed a total sale of 36144.4 tons of upland cotton, 4% less than the previous week, lower than the average level of 33% weeks ago.

The areas contracted mainly include Turkey (12774.8 tons), Pakistan (5689.8 tons), mainland China (4033 tons), Bangladesh (3270 tons) and Thailand (2485.2 tons).

The signing of the new cotton 23849.2 tons in 2010/11 is mainly sold to unknown countries (10900 tons), Guatemala (4839.6 tons) and Salvatore (3924 tons).


The shipment of 48374.2 tons during the week decreased by 19% compared with the previous week, which was 20% lower than the average of the last 4 weeks.

They are mainly shipped to the mainland of China (12011.8 tons), Turkey (10812.8 tons), Mexico (5450 tons), Thailand (3139.2 tons), Bangladesh (2921.2 tons) and Indonesia (2332.6 tons).


The Chinese mainland signed a 4033 ton week, down 5% from last week, accounting for 11% of the contract, 12011.8 tons of shipment, down 37% from last week, accounting for 25% of the total shipment volume.
