The first use of trademarks will be granted priority when applying for trademark registration in China within 6 months from the date of exhibition.

Lv Guoqiang introduced the latest progress of intellectual property protection in World Expo, Shanghai.

He said that all measures to protect intellectual property rights of exhibitors in World Expo, Shanghai have been implemented, including the provision of intellectual property agency services list and intellectual property protection guide.

The exhibitors' intellectual property service center will be set up in the Expo site, and all participants will be consulted on the protection of intellectual property rights.

The center will guide the exhibitors to handle related intellectual property affairs, handle exhibitors' certificates and Performance Certificates for exhibitors, assist the Chinese Music Copyright Association to conduct music copyright licensing procedures for exhibitors, and coordinate and solve the relevant intellectual property disputes among exhibitors.

In addition, World Expo will also provide performance certificates for performances of literary and art workers in various countries, so as to protect the copyright of authors and performers.

It is also reported that during the holding and withdrawal of Shanghai World Expo, all kinds of first instance intellectual property cases in the Expo site will be concentrated in the intellectual property court of Shanghai Pudong New Area Court (except those under the jurisdiction of the intermediate courts).
