Traditional Cotton Clothes Are Completed In Three Steps

Pure Cotton

The word "pure cotton" is full of natural flavor, but pure cotton clothes are not environmentally friendly and natural.

From cotton to pure cotton clothes, it is necessary to go through a series of chemical processing.

First, we need to apply the size

Cloth is composed of yarns one by one, and yarn is composed of a strand of fibers.

The cotton balls need to be combed into cotton fibers one by one by a textile machine, but the cotton fibers are too thin and easy to break when the machine is pulled, so they cannot be woven into cloth. Therefore, it is necessary to apply a layer of size on the yarn.

After that, there are three steps: pretreatment - dyeing - finishing

Pretreatment

First, use hot caustic soda NaOH to dissolve the slurry into water soluble sodium salt, and add some JFC penetrant (fatty alcohol polyoxyethylene ether) to help better dissolve. This step is called desizing.

After desizing, there will be many impurities, including pectin, wax, cottonseed hull, inorganic salts, pigments, ash, nitrogen containing substances, etc. Then the oxidant hydrogen peroxide H2O2 is added to bleach the yellow pigment in the cotton grey cloth. At the same time, in order to remove the black cotton seed hull, caustic soda NaOH and sodium bisulfite NaHSO3 are added to react with the phenolic hydroxyl group in lignin to generate derivatives that are easily soluble in alkali. This step is called refining bleaching. At the same time, a series of chemical components are added to prevent the occurrence of metal ion catalysis.

Next, dye the clothes

There are three kinds of dyes commonly used for cotton fiber: direct dyes, reactive dyes and vat dyes. They are not combined with cotton fibers in the same way.

After dyeing, because there is still a lot of floating color on the surface of cotton fabric, the floating color should be washed away, and at the same time, the washed color should be prevented from re staining on the cloth, so different surfactants should be used to mix and wash again. Therefore, a lot of water resources need to be used to clean, which also leads to the printing and dyeing industry is a highly polluting industry.

Post processing

This is the key point of clothing product differentiation, and it is all up to finishing to change the clothes. All fabrics are woven from yarns, so we always mistake the performance of fabric=the performance of fiber itself. For example, pure cotton fabrics should absorb water, and chemical fiber fabrics should be impermeable. But with special treatment, these two impressions can be completely reversed.

Therefore, pure cotton clothes have to go through complicated chemical procedures, which are not environmentally friendly and natural at all. On the contrary, chemical fiber clothes are much more convenient to process than pure cotton because of their high purity. On the contrary, they use less chemical products and waste water than cotton clothes.

Were you shocked?! The clothing industry is too deep, and there are many complicated procedures involved. You can ask more professionals.

For this reason, a series of new technologies have been developed to solve these problems. Bio Dye biological dyeing developed by Zengye Textile Science and Technology Studio uses environment-friendly desizing materials in the desizing pretreatment of carded fabrics, while knitted fabrics do not need to be sized, and the pretreatment is treated with biological enzymes
Bio Dye biological dyeing is used in the foreword, without adding any chemicals, but also supports the use of natural food pigments for dyeing, upgrading the textile industry from industrial level to food level.

With the development of new technology, the traditional long-term problems are solved one by one, and the plant fiber products are naturally pure green products.
