In November 6th, the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) said in its monthly report that the use of China's cotton mills and the slow import of cotton were largely due to the continuing economic burden caused by Sino US trade friction. --2019/20's global cotton consumption and trade are expected to decline.

According to ICAC, cotton production is estimated at 26 million 700 thousand tons and consumption is 26 million 200 thousand tons in the global 2019/20 year. The total volume of trade is 8 million 800 thousand tons.

India's cotton output is 6 million tons, the world's leading, although the country's low yield is 440 kg / ha, the lowest in the world, and far below the global average of 780 kg / ha.

China is expected to be the world's largest consumer country, with consumption of 8 million 50 thousand tons, although the figure is 2% lower than that in 2018/19.

However, Mexico and Pakistan increased imports by 48% to 141000 tons, and increased 8% to 711000 tons respectively.
