Pakistan Demands Anti-Dumping Investigations On China'S PET Production

Recently, the Pakistan Customs Committee has received applications from relevant industries in Pakistan, calling for an anti-dumping investigation on imports of polyester fibers from China.

According to the relevant provisions of the anti-dumping law of the Pakistan, the Pakistan Customs Committee will examine the authenticity and validity of the application materials, and decide whether to file the case and initiate the investigation procedure within 45 days.

According to Chinese customs statistics, in 2007, the total polyester fiber products exported to Pakistan amounted to about 60 million US dollars, accounting for 15% of China's total exports to the world.

This is the first anti-dumping case filed by Pakistan's domestic industry since 2007.

So far, Pakistan has put forward safeguards or anti-dumping investigations on 5 Chinese products, including footwear, calcium carbide, pre heat sensitive aluminum, formaldehyde resin and tile.

Formaldehyde resin and ceramic tiles were found to be dumping after final determination.
